About US

Since our foundation in 1983, Tolaga Bay Cashmere has established a reputation as Oceania’s most unique luxury brand.

Recognised as the pioneers of New Zealand cashmere, our company creates the finest luxury knitwear for Women, Men, Baby and Home.

Each cashmere product is exclusively handcrafted in our own factory-atelier, located in the remote coastal township of Tolaga Bay. An area imbued with wild beauty and rugged scenic headland, which forms the backbone of New Zealand’s East Cape.

By farming our own cashmere goats, we achieve a superior fibre, ensure our garments are produced sustainably and our animals welfare is protected. Our goats are free to roam in their natural habitat, high up on Tolaga Bay's panoramic hilltops, overlooking the South Pacific Ocean.

With a small population of 768 people, the Tolaga Bay township retains a unique history. It was here famous British explorer Captain James Cook dropped anchor in 1769, during his voyage on HMS Endeavour to discover the Southern Hemisphere and observe the Transit of Venus.

Tolaga Bay Cashmere Company is a privately owned New Zealand company, with the brand founders, who now span two generations.

OUR VALUES

Our philosophy for locally sourced cashmere of exceptional provenance is imbued throughout our company and guides our holistic values. We respect the diversity of nature and integrate our brand activities within our natural environment. This helps to preserve our planet’s finite resources and protects our unique goat-to-garment business model.
